  • Dr. Christian Morris, MD

    Co-Founder

    Dr. Morris is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He earned a bachelor’s degree in health promotion and education from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and a doctor of medicine and master of public health degrees from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami.

    Dr. Morris completed an internship in general medicine at Mount Sinai-Elmhurst Hospital in New York City. Having completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Washington University in St. Louis, he also served as chief resident of the wellness curriculum. He is a highly skilled and compassionate physician specializing in post-acute rehabilitation and pain management.

    Being a resident of New Mexico, he identified the critical need for a compassionate approach of pain management and care that fosters trust and collaboration. Along with Dr. Walia, he co-founded the New Mexico Center for Pain and Wellness to provide a holistic and patient-centric approach to pain management.

    Proficient in English, French, and Spanish, Dr. Morris has served as a medical interpreter for French-speaking refugees in Salt Lake City hospitals.

  • Dr. Bhupinder Walia, MD

    Co-Founder

    Dr. Walia completed his training at the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa, College of Medicine. After his residency, Dr. Walia worked as a Hospitalist in the Seattle area. He then transitioned to the post-acute setting, providing care to Western Washington’s geriatric population. Having navigated the complexities of post-acute medicine, Dr. Walia co-founded New Mexico Center for Pain and Wellness to provide compassionate care to the population in need of pain management.

    Dr. Walia was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. He is an active skier, enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with his family. He enjoys linguistics, and is a polyglot. He has gained fluency in multiple languages including English, French, Spanish, German, Swahili, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu. With these skills, Dr. Walia is able to connect with people from various cultures often completing medical examinations in their native language.

  • Dr. Mark Grossetete, MD, PhD

    Pain Interventionalist (Albuquerque)

    Dr. Grossetete earned his Doctorate at the UNM Health Sciences Center in the Division of Neuroscience through the Department of Neurology and Post-Doctoral Fellowship with focus on Traumatic Brain Injury. Following his acceptance to and completion of medical school and subsequent internship in UNMH Neurology Department, he served as Chief Resident in the UNMH Neurology Department. Following his Interventional Pain Fellowship in the Department of Anesthesiology at UNMH, he now offers Interventional Pain Treatment for his New Mexico Center for Pain and Wellness patients.

    Known for his warm bedside manner, Dr. Grossetete prioritizes building strong doctor-patient relationships. He takes the time to listen to his patients' concerns, ensuring that their voices are heard in the decision-making process. His compassionate approach fosters trust and collaboration, empowering patients to actively participate in their recovery journey. Dr. Grossetete was also voted as One of Albuquerque’s Top Docs by colleagues in the medical profession.
